Last Friday, the Special Olympics Malawi successfully wrapped up its inaugural coaches’ training course for the second quarter of the fiscal year at Addolorata Primary School in Thyolo.
The training boasted an impressive attendance of over 60 participants, including sports and Special Needs Education teachers, community members, law enforcement officers, and health personnel.
The primary goal of the training was to expand the network of coaches, promoting inclusivity nationwide and equipping them with the essential skills to coach athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Following the training, the newly trained coaches are poised to promptly commence the recruitment and training of athletes across the country.
The training was spearheaded by Mr. Mustafa Moses, head of sports at Special Olympics Malawi, and Ms. Enid Mauluka, the National Director of Special Olympics Malawi.
