MALAWI MEN’S CRICKET TEAM EYES THIRD CONSECUTIVE WIN AT ICC MEN’S T20 WORLD CUP SUB-REGIONAL QUALIFIERS

The Malawi Men’s Cricket National Team is set to face Mali this afternoon in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifiers A, at UDSM Ground in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with the match scheduled for 1:50 PM CAT.

Malawi aims to secure their third consecutive win in the tournament, while Mali is eager to claim their first victory. A win today would significantly boost Malawi’s chances of finishing in the top two and progressing to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final.

In their opening match, Malawi dominated Lesotho with a convincing 93-run victory. Samil Sohail was named Player of the Match after scoring 64 runs off 46 balls with an impressive strike rate of 139. In their second game, Malawi triumphed over Ghana by 25 runs, with Moazzam Baig earning Player of the Match honors for his all-round performance, contributing 19 runs, 24 balls, and taking 3 crucial wickets.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifiers A features six teams: Cameroon, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mali, and hosts Tanzania. The tournament is being played in a round-robin format, with each team facing one another once. The top two teams will advance to the next stage.
