The stage is set for an intense showdown as the Malawi Darts National Team embarks on their quest for glory at the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Darts Confederation Championship, taking place from 28th August to 1st September 2024 in Matsapha, Eswatini.
Kicking off their campaign today, Malawi faces a challenging start against the host nation, Eswatini, followed by back-to-back matches against formidable opponents Namibia and Zimbabwe. The team will then face Botswana before a highly anticipated match against South Africa.
According to Joe Zangazanga, the president of the Darts Association of Malawi, the team is brimming with confidence and readiness for the regional championship.
“The team’s morale is at its peak, and we are poised to make Malawi proud at this prestigious tournament,” explained Zangazanga.
This championship, known for its competitive edge, gathers the best darts talent in the region, making it a pivotal event for Malawi as they aim to establish their dominance on the continental stage. Teams from across the region, including South Africa, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Zambia, Angola, and Mozambique, are set to compete, promising thrilling encounters.
