The Malawi Boxing Association (MABA) held its Elective Annual General Meeting on Saturday at Ubuthu Lodge in Salima, ushering in a new era of leadership that will steer the association for the next four years.
Former Vice President Francis Kadzakalowa was elected unopposed as the new President of the association, a development that reflects broad confidence in his leadership capabilities. Alice Kanyangala also assumed the role of Vice President unchallenged, securing her position without contest.
The position of General Secretary was filled by Daudi Shaibu, who, like the President and Vice President, was elected unopposed.
The only contested position during the elections was that of Vice General Secretary, where Agness Mtimaukanena emerged victorious with 22 votes, defeating George Nyirenda, who garnered 5 votes.
Arthur Makwera has been appointed as Treasurer, having also secured the role without opposition.
The newly elected Committee Members include Robert Kadali, Ndaona M’bwana, Adamson Chunda, and Fanuel Katengeza a team expected to play a pivotal role in driving the association’s strategic agenda and fostering the development of boxing across the country.
