The Darts Association of Malawi has ushered in a new leadership following its elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

In a smooth and uncontested election, Peterkins Kayira was elected president, taking over the reins unopposed. Joining him in the executive committee are Memory Manjawira as vice president, Victor Chawinga as general secretary, and Charles Mughogho as treasurer, all elected unopposed.

The new executive will serve a four-year term and is expected to drive efforts aimed at developing and popularizing darts across the country.

Speaking after the elections, newly elected President Kayira expressed gratitude for the confidence entrusted in the new leadership and pledged to focus on strengthening grassroots development and promoting the sport in schools and communities.

“We are ready to take darts to greater heights. Our vision is to build a strong foundation for the sport, improve its visibility, and increase participation, especially among the youth,” said Kayira.

Meanwhile, the association will convene an extraordinary AGM at a date to be announced, where the executive will elect a tournament director, a key role expected to support the implementation of structured competitions and talent development programs.

Stakeholders and members present at the AGM welcomed the new team and expressed optimism that the leadership will bring fresh energy and direction to the sport.
