The Basketball Association of Malawi (BASMAL) has secured a significant boost for the 2024/2025 National Basketball Tournament, courtesy of a K44 million sponsorship from CDH Investment Bank.
The tournament’s thrilling finals will unfold over two action-packed days at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) Sports Complex in Blantyre, commencing this Friday and concluding on Saturday.
In the men’s category, the competition will feature eight formidable teams: Bravehearts, Central Knights, CDH Investment Bank, Crazy Warriors, Disciples, FDH Bricks, Moyale, and Nkhandwe. The women’s division will see participation from Bravehearts, Cobbe Ladies, Kukoma Eagles, Lab Co-Flyers, Mikoko Mystics, Northern Fire, and Unilil Arkangels.
The BASMAL National Championship serves as a pinnacle event in Malawi’s basketball calendar, bringing together top teams from various regional leagues. Winners of the tournament earn the opportunity to represent the country in the Road to BAL, further emphasizing the competition’s significance in the broader African basketball landscape.
