Apart from the main race which was 25 km, other events included aerobics, fun run and an island in the sky concert.

The event is open to both local and international athletes and for one to participate in the race they have to pay MK2000(Women) MK3000(men) and MK15000 for international athletes.

Yesterday’s victory was the first for Malawi against Zambia since 2015 when the Flames won 1-0 to lift the COSAFA cup plate.

This is the 22nd time for the Flames to compete at the regional showpiece and have only reached the finals in two occasions in 2002 and 2003

We had about 7000 athletes from all over the world, we had about 190 countries that participated at the world games and its not easy.

The 2023 special Olympics world games were held under the theme ‘’Nothing about us without us having a say’’.
