The games are being played at Civo stadium, Nankhaka ground, Kamuzu Institute for Sports, Kamuzu barracks and Lilongwe community ground.
The tournament has attracted eight countries which include Malawi, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Eswatini, Cameroon, Botswana and Sierra Leon.
‘’We are trying hard to get sponsors and I think everything starts with a step and we hope it’s going to work,’’
In the first edition NEED were the overall winners while in the second edition CWED were crowned as the overall winners.
Under the MAS program, school going athletes are encourage to take part in different sporting codes while school is in progress as well as during holidays.
The Malawi Youth Games acts as a vehicle for identifying and nurturing talent across the country as all schools both private and public from primary and secondary schools take part.
This is the 3rd edition of the Malawi Youth Games. In the last edition CWED were the overall winners of the competition.
The result mean the Queens will battle it out against Tonga who lost to South Africa 72 – 46. This will be the second meeting for the teams in three days as the Queens won the previous encounter 56 – 51.
