The Malawi women’s national cricket team took on hosts Rwanda in their third match of the ongoing Kwibuka Tournament in Kigali on Wednesday. After winning the toss, Malawi opted to bowl first, aiming to capitalize on early momentum.

Rwanda responded with a solid batting performance, posting 109 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Malawi struggled to find their rhythm and were bowled out for 60 runs in 17.4 overs, falling short by 49 runs.

While the result marked the team’s third consecutive loss in the tournament, the squad continues to display resilience, fighting spirit, and an unshakable passion for the game.

With five group-stage matches still to play, Malawi remains focused and hopeful as they gear up to face Cameroon today at 1:30 PM CAT.
