The inaugural Union Cup, organised by the Golf Union of Malawi, is currently underway at the Limbe Country Club in Blantyre.
The prestigious tournament was officially launched by the Chief Executive Officer of the Malawi National Council of Sports, Dr. Henry Kamata, who took the ceremonial tee-off to mark the beginning of what is being described as one of the most exciting and challenging golf events in the country.
Over 100 golfers are competing in the tournament, with winners to be crowned in various categories including Individual Men’s, Ladies’, Nearest-to-the-Pin, and Longest Drive competitions.
This year’s Union Cup has attracted sponsorship from several leading institutions, including NBS Bank, Britam, Seed Co, Ethanol Company (EthCo), Nico Holdings, Illovo Sugar Malawi, Blantyre Water Board, among others.
