The Malawi National Women’s Football Team, the Scorchers, is set to kick off their training camp on Friday, February 7, 2025. Head Coach Lovemore Fazili has assembled a talented 30-member squad, gearing up for the crucial February Women’s FIFA Window.
Initially, the Scorchers were poised to face the Republic of Congo in the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers on February 20 at home, followed by a return match on February 25, 2025. However, the Republic of Congo’s withdrawal from the competition has altered the landscape.
Despite advancing to the next stage without stepping onto the pitch, the Scorchers are committed to their preparation. The team will use this camp to sharpen their skills and build their strategy for the next round, where they will challenge the winner of the match between Zimbabwe and Angola in October this year.
