The Malawi National Netball Team, the Queens, faced a challenging series against South Africa’s Spar Proteas, falling short in all three matches of the Spar Test Series held from October 31 to November 3 at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In the first game, the Queens struggled to match South Africa’s intensity and lost 68-31. The second game saw the Queens improve slightly but still fell to a 69-38 defeat. In the third and final match, the Proteas proved dominant once again, securing a 69-24 victory over Malawi.
Malawi’s Thandie Galeta was named as the best Center of the test series
Despite these setbacks, the Queens are gearing up for their next major tournament: the Africa Netball Cup, scheduled for December 9-14, 2024, in Swakopmund, Namibia. This competition offers a fresh opportunity for the team to refine their strategy and demonstrate resilience as they compete against top African teams.
